Cary Clarke - Founders Development

Cary Clarke, CEO of Founders Development Company, LP


Founders Development Company is led by longtime industry professional Cary Clarke. Cary provides more than 40 years of experience in development, construction, brokerage, and property management. His vast resume includes commercial and residential ventures, including land brokerage, neighborhood development, office building and luxury home construction.


Cary started his career completing a management training program for a respected multifamily developer. This experience included makeready unit turnover, onsite bookkeeping, apartment leasing, market analysis, financial packaging and management of a 484-unit apartment complex.
He advanced to Construction Manager before following his passion for construction by pursuing a successful path in building and development. Throughout his journey Cary completed several training programs by some of the leaders in the multifamily industry including Grant Cardone, Carloss Salguero (CS3 Investments), and Bardown Investments' renowned Apartment Addicts Accelerated. This education complemented his previous multifamily experience and provided the knowledge to provide him with a well-rounded background in the industry. He is currently a member of the Apartment Addicts Mastermind Community.

Cary received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. He majored in Finance with a concentration in Real Estate. He has also completed the Entrepreneurship Program at the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.  

Cary has earned multiple professional designations during his career, including Graduate Master Builder from the National Association of Home Builders. His is a past President of the Greater Ft. Worth Builders Association and member of the Board of Directors for the Texas Association of Builders. He is currently a member of the North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors and Real Estate Professionals.

J is a national speaker, the former host of the BiggerPockets Business Podcast and current co-host of the Drunk Real Estate Show. J serves as strategic advisor for a number of technology and real estate firms, and underscores his commitment to nurturing business talent and entrepreneurial ventures.

Justin Walker

Justin Walker is President of Construction Enterprises, Inc. (CEI) based in Nashville, TN. CEI is a national General Contractor that has specialized in Multifamily construction for over 40 years. Justin is a graduate of Auburn University's Building Science Program. He has over 20 years of construction experience and holds GC licenses in 25 states. Justin provides executive corporate oversight and strategic direction for CEI. He is involved from the pre-construction and estimating of each project through the operations and turnover. His construction and management experience includes Student Housing, HUD financed projects, Mid-Rise, and conventional garden style projects. Justin is an active member of the AGC/ABC organizations and a trusted member of the Industry Advisory Council for the Auburn University Building Science Program.

Mark Lindley

Mark Lindley

Mark Lindley is President & Principal of JMark Development & Construction and is responsible for executive leadership and oversight of the firm. He is hands-on involved in every construction project and development and has an extensive background in Ground-Up construction, including Due Diligence, Design and Construction Oversight. His career has spanned nearly 40 years with projects in multiple states and has worked with several large firms such as Nash Phillips/Copus, The Hanover Group, and Asset Plus/Asset Campus.

Mark has a passion for working with many charities especially those that support veterans and homeless youths. He has been married to his wife Lori for 36 years. Together they enjoy traveling, racing their pro trucks, and spending time with their two children and six grandchildren.

Curts Clerley

Curtis Clerkley

Curtis W. Clerkley, Jr., principal of The Clerkley Watkins Group, has a diverse background in architecture and planning. His professional career spans over 35 years, with experience in various architectural and design disciplines, marketing and business development, project management, programming and space planning as well as construction administration.

Curtis graduated from Texas Tech University in 1981 and went to work for Pierce, Goodwin & Alexander. He later joined Steinberg/Wallace and Associates, where he was first exposed to managing multi-family projects. Curtis later helped create the Meloni-Clerkley Partnership, and in 1986, Curtis established The Clerkley Group which transformed into The Clerkley Watkins Group in 2001 when Edward H. Watkins joined the firm as a principal.
