Where CRE Demand Is Growing—and Where the Market Is Heading

August 21, 2026•2 min read

As a Builder, Developer, and Broker I receive a lot of information from many different sources. I’m happy to share these articles with my subscribers and believe this will offer great value to you. During the week I review 200-300 industry related stories and select the three most interesting ones to send in one neat little package.

Here are three commercial real estate trends worth keeping an eye on this week:

  • The Metros Showing Strongest CRE Demand — Commercial real estate performance continues to vary considerably from market to market.

  • The Tech Talent Map Is Expanding Beyond Its Biggest Markets — Tech talent is no longer concentrated exclusively in the country's traditional technology hubs

  • The Mall Gets a Residential Address — The evolution of the traditional shopping mall continues as residential development becomes part of the redevelopment strategy.

Each of these stories highlights something I believe is important in commercial real estate: markets are constantly changing, and opportunities often emerge as a result of those changes. Whether it's capital moving toward stronger metros, talent creating demand in new markets, or aging retail properties finding a second life through mixed-use development, understanding these trends can help us make better decisions. Take a few minutes to read this week's News You Can Use and see what these changes could mean for CRE investors and developers.
